Chomsky- LAD- Universal Grammar

Avram Noam Chomsky is an American linguist,philosopher,social critic,and political activist.He is described as father of modern lingustics. 

     Chomsky labeled that whatever relevant capacity the human has that the cat lacks as the Language Acquisition Device (LAD).

      LAD:- Every child is born with the innate ability to acquire and use language regardless of what language it is. The brain of the child is embedded with the fundamental rules of languages , ability to understand. Hence , children only need to acquire the vocabulary.

    Chomsky argued that the human brain contains a limited set of constraints for organizing a language.This implies in turn that all languages have a common structural basis : the set of rules known as Universal Grammar.
