Reflective journal Week 6

I completed all my portions . Christmas exams begin. I completed awareness class m,project work.  Teachers from christnagar school congratulated us for our active participation in school.
 I was so happy . All the experience that I got from here is so good. I improved a lot by this 30 days of teaching practice. I improved my speaking skills. I put a lot of effort in my communication skill.

Awareness

Today I conducted an awareness program in my school on the topic Mental health and hygiene.
   Mental health is the level of psychological well being or an absence of mental illness. Mental hygiene is the science of promoting mental health and preventing mental illness through the application of psychiatry and psychology.
 Mental health awareness is an important issue for all educators, who are often the first line of defense for their students. Until mental health education is a mandatory aspect of all schools , teachers and administrators can work to promote awareness with their students. Mental health is an integral part of health , and the concept of recovery from mental illness.
  I include videos in my awareness class and students actively participate in my class.

Reflective journal Week 5

This week our school conducted Christmas day celebration. The program was inagurated by Ahana Krishna. It was such a great experience. The way school organized the program was commendable. Christmas exams coming. I almost completed the portions. Next week I am conducting achievement test for the students.

Reflective journal Week 4

This weak begin with my general teacher's visit to our school. She congratulated me for the class. She also gave some suggestions regarding my class. This week I started my project work in my school. I conducted  survey in my class. Classes are going as usual. For celebration practice are going well .  We get opportunity to work with teachers in christnagar school as part of Christmas decorations.

Reflective Journal Week 3

This week my class teacher came to observe my class. I was little nervous but everything went well.teacher gave suggestions to improve my class. School doesn't have ICT classrooms so mostly I show videos in my laptop. Students were most active while teaching with ICT . After diagnostic test I found some difficult section with students so I used remedial teaching for that. I made a model to teach antonyms in my class.

Reflective Journal Week 2

Monday  I had my class on first period. I introduced myself to the students and I moved on to my portion somebody's mother. I introduced my chapter with video and chart. They listen carefully. This I completed my fist poem and start the next chapter the wooden cup. By next week I am conducting a diagnostic test for  somebody's mother

Science Fair

During my teacher practice session I got my school conducted science fair. I was happy that I can be a part of this science fair. I got duty in class 3. Students very so good. They all show active participation.

Reflective journal week -1

My  second phase teaching practice started. Myself soumya and jeenu got christnagar school vellayambalam.

Christnagar school conducted a two day science fair . We are assigned to co-ordinate the program.students show much interest in performing. Two day program was successfully conducted.
We didn't get time to meet our respective classes. 

Capacity Building Program

As part of our B.Ed. curriculum we have to do a capacity Building Program. Capacity Building Program is the process by which individuals and organizations obtain, improve, and retain the skills , knowledge. It allows individual to perform at a greater capacity.
This semester we decided to do food fest. Students were divided into groups.our food fest is named as Spanish masala. Our group include myself, gopika, basariya, Shilpa. We were team 1. Our group sell chicken and veg cutlet. We decorated our table beautifully. We got 150 RS profit from this food fest.

Gandhi Jayanthi

Gandhi jayanthi is an event celebrated in India to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. It is celebrated annually on 2 October.

  To mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi we students and teachers of Christ Nagar college conducted a cleanliness awareness class and we clean the college class rooms and garden area. Students were divided into groups and each group have each section to clean. It turned out to be a great event.

Teaching Practice - Phase 1

My first teaching session is in government H.S.S. kamaleswaram. It was a great experience for me. Being a teacher is always my dream. When I stepped into this school as a teacher I was so happy. Their were many challenges in front of me. Students were little bit noisy and their academic achievements are poor.

  ICT classrooms are always helpful for me. Students were more attentive and cooperative during ICT classes. So I include at least 3 to 4 ICT classes weekly.
 There are certain feilds I need to improve . Though this school includes English medium but students are not able to understand easily. So I cannot improve my speaking skill in English. That was the only demerit from this teaching practice session.
 Kamaleswaram school memories  will always their in my heart.

School based Activity

As part of my teacher practice session  we student teachers of kamaleswaram school conducted  a conscientization class  based on the topic drug abuse.
     Drug abuse is a wide spread problem that makes individual drug users the prime victims.Drug abuse can cause serious physical and mental deterioration.Teens are mostly affected by this. So we decided to take this topic. We gave a detailed awareness class with video presentation and lastly we all took an oath against drug abuse.

CLEANLINESS

 As part of my teaching practice session we student teachers of kamaleswaram school conducted a awareness class based on cleanliness. Apart from awareness class we initiated students to clean their classroom and surroundings. Our school based activity became a great success and teachers of kamaleswaram school congratulated us for this effort.

ROLE OF A TEACHER IN OUR LIFE

     

Teachers play an important role in our life. Teachers know that students are the future of any nation. So the future development of any nation is in the hands of  teachers. A good teacher helps the students to become a good citizen of the society.Teachers help in  molding our careers. Teachers impart data and information  to the student's brain. Appreciation of teachers is very important because they are the most important people in our country. So in India we celebrate teacher's day on September 5 every year.

An open letter to my friend

As part of my B.Ed curriculum we the students of first semester B.Ed English of Christ Nagar College of Education has been able to publish a class magazine of ours. The name of the magazine is CHISTA. I had contributed a open letter to the magazine. The letter is addressed to my friend Nithya . The letter conveys the value of friendship towards her.

MY TECNOLOGY PRACTICUM

INTRODUCTION

Practicum is a specialized field of study that is designed to give students supervised practical application of a previously studied theory.

There are nine steps include in this practicum. The  practicum is on the topic interest and attitude among B.Ed. teacher- trainees  in Christ Nagar College of Education, Thiruvallom.

 To conduct this practicum, I consider the hypothesis of the study. I prepare three research questions based on my topic and ten survey questions. Providing this survey questions to ten teacher-trainees and collect data from their responses. At last prepare a pie chart on each questions and evaluate it.

TOPIC

My topic is Interest and attitude among the B.Ed. teacher- trainees in Christ Nagar College of Education about watching movies. I chose this topic because I love watching movies and also it enrich the creative skills among the teacher trainees.

Next I am considering hypothesis of the study.

HYPOTHESIS

Students may have interest towards watching movies.

Next I move on to the literature review.

LITERATURE REVIEW

Watching a movie can be revitalizing. It allows you to disconnect, relax and have a good time. Film matter for the same reason all art matters because it embodies and conveys within which and for which it is made. Popular art forms, such as film, are of special importance because they speak to the most central of those values and beliefs (Grouch,  Marx. 2016 November 29).

For this question 60% of teacher trainees interested in watching comic movies, 20% interested in horror movies and  20% interested in thriller movies.

CONCLUSION

The practicum shed light on the interest and attitude among the B.ED teacher trainees about the passion of drawing. To conduct this practicum, I prepare three research questions based on watching movies and 10 survey questions. I select ten teacher-trainees from this practicum and provide them to survey questions and I collect the data. Using this collection of data I create pie chart on each questions based on the responses of teacher trainees. As a student-teacher and future teacher this practicum helps me to study more about research how to conduct a survey and how to analyze it.
